  • Why Therapy?

Psychotherapy is usually seen as something a lot more complicated or scary than what it really is.

The truth is, most people would benefit from therapy at some point in their lives and no, you don't need to be "crazy" to go see a therapist.

If you are starting a new phase in your life, you feel lost, sad or anxious. Maybe you just feel "stuck" and want to figure out a new way of doing things. Perhaps you can't seem to get out of your head and you feel disconnected from everyone around you. If you just had a baby or you just lost someone. If you have a high-stress, high-performing job or you want to take your life on a different path. All of these are just a few examples as to why you may want to consult with a therapist, and it's my job to be of help during that time.

My goal is to help you get to where you want to go in life, as quickly as possible.

    ABOUT ME

I grew up and started my training in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and later moved to San Francisco so I could be at the hub of all the latest research and findings in Psychology.

Growing up in South America allowed me to be influenced by the culture, be flexible and keep up with the times. During my training at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) I was trained in the Psychodynamic models and the works of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan ("traditional psychoanalysts"). However, upon moving to San Francisco, CA, and furthering my training at The Wright Institute, I realized that I needed to get more in-depth knowledge of the latest evidence-based treatments out there. As a result of this, I developed as a down-to-earth and efficient therapist, who uses scientifically proven approaches, based on the needs and preferences of my clients. I focus on building strong relationships and providing a space where, together, we can assess, develop and implement a plan to get you to where you want to be.

As a former athlete, I enjoy working with sports performance, athletes and perfectionism.

I enjoy working with executives and high-performing individuals, helping them find new and different ways of coping and live fuller lives.

I have over 18 years of experience working with adults and teenagers. I enjoy working with new families adjusting to parenthood and people experiencing different difficulties like stress and anxiety, marriage and divorce, behavioral/emotional issues, and trauma. I have also worked extensively with teens and young adults navigating a wide range of issues such as school and relationship issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, gender and sexual identity, medical trauma, substance abuse, depression, psychosis, chronic trauma, and PTSD.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones outdoors and, preferably, under the sun. =)

  • BRAINSPOTTING

I offer Brainspotting as an additional therapeutic tool. Brainspotting is a form of therapy that is effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal the underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression, and other behavioral-emotional conditions. It also has been very successfully used with sports performance and creativity enhancement.

Who can benefit from Brainspotting? Watch this video to find out.
